You mean to tell me it's okay for kids to read in bible about massacres and divine atrocities and such like?

It's the same as letting your child watch "Saving Private Ryan" or basically any other action movie out there. I think it is alright for kids to know such harsh things exist, but at the same time, to teach them that it is the way everything is. There is nothing to fear, because earthquakes, massacres, atrocities, they are all a part of the natural balance, no matter how horrific they seem. Living in fear does no good. Things are as they are. There is no changing them. And excluding such things from young humans only blinds them from reality. They should be taught that these things happen for a reason, beyond our understanding, at times.
