I want a purity rin but don't know how to tell my mom?

I'm about to go into 7th grade and I want a purity ring. The thing is that I have no idea how to ask my mom for one because we don't talk about these topics much. We are a religious family and im very nervous about what my dad will say... I appreciate all your help. Thanks
