Sorry, what you SAY is all well and good, but you fail to mention that the Crusades was THE biggest cause of death and destruction ever, making the Inquisition look like small change by comparison. Then, you cherry pick your data concentrating on recent atheist regimes, in an effort to make a point, ignoring all the religious governments such as the Taliban which actively oppresses people on religious grounds. Sorry, but your claim of causality falls apart on a lack of evidence to support your assertion, when you include the Crusades and other religion based dictatorships. Julius wasn't called "The Warrior Pope" for nothing... Sorry, but you have to include ALL of history to make this type of case, NOT a selective FEW examples from an arbitrary slice of history...
