Trek 820 and Specialized Hardrock opinions?

Any information on these two bikes would be valuable. I am about to purchase one.. The riding I do is not radical, more mediocre, street included. The Trek is a steel frame, the Hardrock is aluminum. Looking at that factor too. Any info please........thanks in advance..........................
