Do you think that the American People will ever be told the truth about Iraq?

I think the other answers here pretty much say what America's all about in the 21st Century. A generation of dumbed-down, brain-washed robots who question nothing if it's what their masters have fed them. If you give them any differing truths about anything relevant in their world, they come out kicking and screaming like children who've had their toys or candy taken away. This is the population that votes in a government that would do 1. through 8., as you have listed them. I don't know if EVERYTHING you've written is fact, but certainly some of it is. I've marched against the Bush (I and II) wars; I've argued; I've voted against it.... For what, really? It has made no difference, and the overwhelming tidal wave of ignorance in this country is but another force in Nature, self-destructive, hopefully. So be it. People don't want to know the truth, in general, anyway. They'll white-knuckle the biggest lies in the universe far more fiercely. Look at the success of religion all over the world.
