Agnostics/Atheists only: My mom is too scared to admit she doesn't believe in God?

The problem is that we don't know what happens after death at all. We as humans fear the unknown and no set of doctrine or belief is going to take away that fear entirely. No reason to try to get over something that you can't even begin to understand as a human.
